Flex Builder Linux

Recently I’ve started a new Flex Project and decided to try the recently released Flex Builder for Linux on a Kubuntu 7.10. The installer was very easy to use and everything worked flawlessly. Though it is only an alpha 2, after a few days of playing with it it seems pretty stable. Unfortunately is is still missing a lot of the features available on Windows and Mac, but I am sure it will eventually catch up to it’s older brothers. If you need more information please read the Release Notes. Anyway, I congratulate Adobe on it’s views on Open Source and Linux !

BlackBerry and Google Calendar

Though for some time I have been reluctant to use Google’s applications because of some privacy issues, lately I have changed my mind. For example Google’s calendary sync tool for BlackBerry is simply indispensable to me. For the first time, I can manage my tasks and appointments with my mobile (Blackberry Pearl 8100), with a web browser (www.google.com/calendar) and with various desktop applications (I like Kde Pim). Furthermore, Google’s Calendar is one of the best web based calendar’s I’ve seen and it’s exported as both ICAL and XML. Give it a try !
